About Me
Carrie (1996-2009) and yours truly
My name is Brian Swartzfager. I`m a web application developer in the Office of Information Technology at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. My web applications are built using ColdFusion, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. When I'm not working, I enjoy playing racquetball, basketball, and Ultimate Frisbee, playing video games, and working on new programming ideas.
My wife, Deanna, is currently earning her Ph.D. in cell biology and molecular genetics at the University of Maryland. We live in Bowie, MD (located between Washington, D.C. and Annapolis) with our three greyhounds, Wren, Symbra, and Blitz.
My main purpose in keeping this blog is to share some of the tools and techniques I`ve developed as part of my work with other web application developers (especially ColdFusion developers), share any information resources I come across, and to express my thoughts about things that affect the developer community.
I will, however, write about non-technical stuff as well: technology is, after all, an enhancement of life, not a replacement for it.
